The Little Nyonya

Recently I'm addicted to the Singapore drama "The Little Nyonya" (THUMB UP!!!), the story was good and i came to understand more about my culture too :) Haha, thanks to the drama :P

I started to understand why some of my cousin addressed my grandma as "Ah Nyah", i never ask my parents about this until i watched the drama i just notice that "Nyah" mean mother. And the reason my cousins addressed my grandma as Nyah because my she used to take care of them since they are young, so they used to address her in that way as mother.

Besides that, i came to understand why my grandma behave in certain way which is always my doubt. She tend to "pantang" "anak dara" go out late at night, stay over night at other people house, dress up too sexy, messy hair (cos she used to asked me to "tocang" or "siput" my hair when i was long hair).....i cant think of what else she dislike us to do,lol~

After watch the drama i just realised that young nyonya are not allow to step out of the house to communicate with strangers, they have to stay at home do house chores, learn to stitch bead shoe, learn to cook peranakan's dishes...because without all this skills, they wont be able to promote themselves to get a better husband. Hmm...i feel like learning to stitch beadshoe,hehe...just for the sake of interested, nothing more than that.

Furthermore, we also always have peranakan's dishes such as "pongteh", and i miss nyonya kueh so much now (hungry~) Proud to be part of the peranakan :) and a nice word for peranakan is, I'm "mix" and im not pure chinese, haha...and oh ya, peoples tend to misunderstand me as Malay, yea i look like Malay but dun use the word "MALAY", please use the proper word ----"PERANAKAN", cos it is TOTALLY DIFFERENT!!!

And lastly i really like the way nyonya dress up, kebaya is always look "SEXY"! There is a different between the nyonya and bibik fashion (picture has shown above).

Family gathering-Spore

Last weekend i went to Singapore for family gathering, although is rushed and tired but it was worth it:) The day before gathering, we went to Far East shopping centre, and look at this interesting picture.Hmm, i found this in one of the piercing shop at Far East, it was displayed at the display cabinet right at the main door. I guess is a fake XXXX, but why they want to display this?? Cool ke?? I have another clearer picture of this, but...LOL!


And this mirror will make u look short and FAT, how i wish i can be FAT but not short ya!!! Hehe..nowadays most of the girls want to be SLIM, but i wish to be as fat as i can!!!


After dinner, we had small gamble, played Ceki and Bingo. It is hard to have everyone here and have some fun together. For me, i dun even bother weither to win or lost, but the joy and exciment is hardly to find. Especially for Bingo game, it was so fun and everyone was so excited and making some sound effect to make the environment tense of winning money, haha! It was funny to see them acted in so excited way! But too bad some people dun even understand the feelings and the meaning behind this, it is not about winning money but it is also to get closer among relatives. Althought winnining money is the gamble purpose, but for me the excitment and the joy that i gained in family is most precious. And for your information, all this while i hate to played any card and gamble no matter at where, that's why even the famous game "chor-dai-di" i also dunno how to play. Some people will easily get addicted when they gamble or doing other things such as smoking and drinking which istwill bring harm to one life, and in the long run it will bcome a BAD HABIT! But im glad that i will never get addicted on anything, even flash game! :)

Hamster

Welcome new born babies~ This is the second time she gave birth but all end up in heaven, and now it left three and i really hope that they can survive :) Be strong ya babies!

This is the pic when my mum found him (his name is Hiam-hiam) in the cabinet in the kitchen, he "ran" away from his cage for around five days and surprisingly he still survived without any food and water. Oh ya i have three hamster, two male and one female, this is one of the male hamster but not the daddy of the babies, hehe! Poor hiam hiam, such a horrible experience huh, and i bet u will never dare to leave ur "home" anymore or else u will be end up inside the CAT stomach or swimming in the drain! Haha... u really made everyone worried of u! Especially my mum cos she is the last person who take care of u!! So just be guai- guai ya, no more run away!!!

Love is still in the air? Well valentine had over already and what is next? i went to Genting for this V-day, i love the weather in Genting so much^^

Presents...Flowers...Chocolates is a famous items during this day. And i got something more precious than all this :)
